Evaluation

I have completed all the required tasks and activities that were set . I have followed the brief by doing fabric manipulation on my final piece and on my samples. I feel that my final piece did answer to the theme that was set because I did a repeat pattern in the background which was my local area, I managed my time during the project by doing various different tasks, I did my samples ad tasks during different weeks and then I focused two weeks on my final 1 metre length and final samples. I planned my ideas by drawing out my final ideas and linking my samples to my final metre length fabric. I think I did enough sampling you can see this in my samples. I used different fabric manipulations such as pleating and different textures this is on my final metre fabric. I got my inspiration from various samples and used them in my final piece. I looked at different artist. The artists I looked at were Teesha Moore, Dion Archibald ad Stephen Campbell. These artists influenced me in different ways. I never found any problems with completing these tasks. I think I can develop my work further by keeping a good time keeping , and concentrate more.

Final samples

These are a few samples of my work
To do this sample I did a few prosesses. First of all what I did I got a scrap peice of paper out of the bin and splashed dye all over the page. After this dried I put white emolusion paint and scratched into the painting. To make the sample stand out even more I attached brown paper and stuck that down. I then used the freefot to do my final processes. This peice is really quirky and this picture also relates to my final peice because I used the clock tower for my final peice.
I did the same process as above but the difference is went a little crazy. This is the sample I liked the most out of all them because it reflects my personality. To do this I attached pink wrapping paper which I found, and after this process I got the freefoot and addecd the bricks to give this peice texture. And also I scratched into it I used mixed media, the mix media I used was white emulsion paint, paper and embriodery.
This was the first ever sample I did. To do this sample I used different things. The things I used was a pen, dyes, pigment dyes, brown paper and then lastly I embroidered onto the peice. This is a close up photo of the sample. I did my peice quirky and fun. To do this I added a lot of colours. The process to do the clock tower I got dye and drew and then attached brown paper and stitched onto the paper.
This is another close up sample of my work. To do the clock tower this time I used a normal foot and zigzaged the clock tower and the bottom of the clock tower I used a freefoot embroidery. Also I used hand stitch which brought the sample together and which made it stand out.
Final sample 1
Final sample 2
Final sample 3

As you can see from my samples they all match because I added brown paper. I also did this on my final metre fabric. The samples tell a story because they have the same image but they are done in various different ways. As you can see from all the samples you cannot clearler tell what its supposed to be but my personal thoughts are that the embroidery brings all the peices together.

Christina Hudson

Christina Hudson is a new textiles designer who currently graduated. She produced little girls clothes ranging from the age of 2. I chose to use this artist because she has used the skills I have used , the skill is to do freefoot embroidery. As you can see she has also done appliqué with various different fabrics. And to complete the project she has photographed various different children wearing her range of clothes.

Alexander McQueen

Here are some fabric manipulation of Alexander McQueens collection. I used these because he has used various techniques to create the dress such as gather, pleats and embriodery.

This is a design of a dress. The fabric manipulation in the dress is the pleats ont the underskirt and the embriodery.

There is little material used, to create the main dress Alexander McQueen has used lace, the lace is formed with peacock feathers. And the  underskirt is formed with net.

Dion Archibald

Dion Archibald is a contemporary australian artist. I chose him because on my final peice my work reflects to his. This is because I uses mix media such as inks, paints and dyes. He paints various things, these things include landscapes, cityscapes, porttraits and still life. His work is very contemporary and modern.

Marco Mitanovski

Marco Mitanovski is a fashion designer and a graduate from "college of design" in Spain. He was the one to watch out for at the London Fashion Week. He was awarded the best young designer were he showcased is work. He got inspiration from the renaissance and Elizabethan costumes. I chose him for fabric manipulation because of all the different layers he uses in his work and also they are extraordinary and out of this world !

Teesha Moore

For my third artist I chose Teesha Moore. I chose Teesha Moore because of the backgrounds she created. I have used some of the bright colours in my work. Her inspiration for her wonderful and wacky work comes from all kind of books.  All the images come from various different books. She thinks of an idea and then they get all mixed together and she has a end product which is wacky and wonderful. These are some of her work:
